Stirling Single 4-2-2 with 8ft diameter driving wheels 1500V DC electric loco used on the Sheffield-Manchester route, long closed Class 87 electric loco recently replaced on the west coast line by Pendolinos Some of the locos surrounding the turntable

Interesting 'before and after' images. I photographed this loco in August 1963 at Derby works, already earmarked for preservation. It is now in York Museum.
Wow! Not only classic trains at this time, but very expensive even when they were made, I am sure. The woodwork on that first car is amazing! The sectioned Bulleid engine is very interesting.
Those are simply stunning. Amazing that all that work put into building great looking pieces of machinery and they were beat to death then restored. Excellent job
