So who's planing to go next year?
If so, what are you bringing with you? A full layout, or just a few pieces?

In airplanes, plus customs, for some peoples that will not be an easy task.

I already have the time off work. Just waiting to find out what I can bring. Of course the BFY (Big Fricking Yard) should be there. Got to show that off.

I think two clubs from Texas will bring modules, but how do you plan to bring the BFY, or is that just wishful thinking?

Tentatively, SOZME will be showing modules.

Medford hosted about 3500 feet floor space. I believe Denver will allow for over 5000 feet. Lots of room for choo choos.

First time in Colorado, so driving there is a must! I will probably bring whatever ZoCal needs me to bring, including modules of others. I missed Medford and still sad over that, but looking forward to meeting more folks in Z.

Are ZoCal boys planning on attending besides you? The more the crazier and better.

Loren, We haven't really talked about it, but I would bet heavy on several of us showing up beside David L. and myself. I actually was planning on breaching the topic at one of the train shows in December with the guyZ. But with you and Karin there, it will be crazier and better.

    James,

At this point in time, Karin is not planning on attending. It may change, but she is pretty sure she won't go. Joe and I will be sharing driving duties when we come.

At this time, I am planning on being there.
I really enjoyed the first convention in Medford and meeting so many of you.

I am planning on some new releases to be premiered in Denver.

    See you there,

I will be there. I am looking forward to it and have been really playing it up to the folks I talk to. There are a large number of Z scalers in Colorado which should help with attendance. It is going to be a great time!

See Loren, easy money betting on the ZoCal crew showing up. As for Karin not coming too, 'tis the season to say BOO to that! :mwink:
Don, wouldn't think of leaving you behind, bud. I'm thinking Colorado Convoy....

    James,
There is a possibility she might fly out, but no way is she going to do a road trip. It will be quite an undertaking for all West Coast folks who go and decide to take modules.

Peter Built is sounding more logical all the time........)

This trip will be 619 miles for me. 400 less than the trip I took to Sacramento for the NTS. If I were home in Atlanta, these trips would be impossible for me but.........................................

If all goes well, I should be there no problem!! Looking forward in visiting with all that attend. Some I've never met, some that I have met and all that I look forward in meeting again!!!

Only Don and I knew till now. We purchased a trailer just for ZoCal. It just made sense to get one. Not just for the BFY, but modules that really have no home and people have to keep bringing to shows anyway. Example: Barnblatt (vineyard module), Fry (pueblo moduile) and the quad module were having to be brought by others (including me) to shows. With the trailer, we can keep the "group" modules in there (besides the BFY).
The trailer is a 6' x 10' enclosed cargo box. Don will build the rack inside (with input from me). Don also has plans for "ZoCal" artwork for the sides.

David, make sure to secure the trailer. Maybe get a Lojack to track it in case its stolen. Trailers have been stolen before.

You bet John. Lock for the trailer hitch first. I have three locks with the same key - trailer hitch, side and rear doors. No battery for a lojack system. I'm getting a solar powered vent for the top to increase ventilation.

New Thinking on Denver by Karin and Trailers to go....

    James,

Just this weekend Karin and I have been having some discussions regarding Denver and also a larger trailer for us to haul modules.

Trailer size kind of seems to be the determining factor in our case. With more space to haul more, Karin may decide to go, but nothing for sure now. She is working on a great BYOZ that I think will be a real crowd pleaser.

We are wanting a larger trailer than the 5x8 we have now, but have been told that a dual axle larger trailer would be just too much for our Honda Odyssey mini van. It has a good motor so we're just wondering what we could handle safely and without breaking the bank of the transmission.

Since we are not hauling a lot of weight, maybe we can have a larger trailer......a 6x12 and haul more choo choos? Wouldn't that be exciting?

Karin even mentioned making longer trips to perhaps San Francisco, or other places. Boy, she's getting wilder with age......

BTW, I think the Cow Palace is now out of service or soon will be so I'm wondering where BAZ shows might be held in the future?

Yes the Cow Palace is gone, and so is Pleasanton. Now the BAZ BoyZ have 2 GTE shows in San Jose, 1 in Richmond, and 1 in Sacramento. We also did the Redwood Empire show in Santa Rosa, but that is a 3 day show from 10 to 7pm, so it's kind of tiring, but fun. :D
