I have a couple of grain trailer kits that need to be painted before assembly. My first thought was white with silver/aluminum trim. See a lot of those. However, I've also seen a lot that look more like some kind of metallic black color with silver/aluminum trim and I really like that look. My guess is it might be something I'd have luck finding in the R/C car shops maybe? So, what kind of suggestions do you all have for that sort of black color paint? This is the kit btw. Cool stuff from Royal Models in N scale
that trailer must carry wet sand because ive never seen one with a drop axle unless its in a state that requires extra axles for light loads. i wonder if it has a 4 axle tractor to pull it. that aluminum trailer is light as it is. what could be that heavy to need that drop axle.???and on the rear. that axle can only support 12000lbs max
Just looked up the Jet trailer . That is a 50 ft trailer so it may need the extra axel for weight distribution . Mike https://www.jetcompany.com/trailers/grain-hopper-trailers/
That's the idea, yes but I've seen a bunch where the black is more metallic looking. For the longer trailers, I know there are a few states that require tri axle in general and I think it's more the norm in Canada as well. Most of the tri axle ones I've seen at one of our plants was more for extra weight distribution for some bridges between source and plant more than heavier weight.
yes some bridge laws also required extra axles. im an old heavy hauler used to love them heavy loads . the more weight the more i liked to haul them... i have not been in a rig for 18 years. if i recall black tarp loads the balck tarp was a little shiny, trailer depending on age were shiny too if made of aluminum .
