I am assembling the N scale kit made by Rix Products called the Guthrie Grain Elevator. Don't know if anyone here has assembled one of these before, or if not might still be able to help me anyways........... here is the question - I am at the point where the tubes in the kit (for the chutes) need to be bent in order to run them from the elevator to the grain bins. The instructions say to use a soldering iron to heat them, then bend them. Wouldn't doing this just cause the plastic to melt? I'd also like to have each bin (there are two of them) generally the same distance apart. Is there a way to bend the tubes at the same angle to make this happen?
You just want to use the iron to heat up the plastic make sure you do not touch the iron to the plastic. If you have something that is the diameter you would like your bend (like a pen) you can mark the start of the bend for each and use the pen to make the bends uniform.
