If my memory serves me right, I remember Lionel had TV commercials, back in the '50s & '60s. I told a friend and he said that he didn't remember any Lionel commercials, and said I have old age creeping up on me.

I need some help to settle the argument?

YES!!! They certainly had 'em!!! 1950's, 1960's. And even in recent years, I'd swear there were a couple.

And, I had Lionel Trains during those 1950's, 1960's!!!!! Loved every minute of owning them!!!

    WOW!!
I had one of those milk cars and the unloading platform. Same with the car that had boxes in it and the guy would shove them out. Man I wish I still had all those!

[IMG] The operating milk car. Those were a hoot! You could push the button really fast, and that little man would toss cans out like mad.

I loved the milk cans shooting out.

Alas, after I married, I still had my set packed in a box at my parents' home. Then, one day while I was visiting, I decided to take them. My mother had already given them away to a neighbor.

I know the feeling Mark. All of my Lionel and my HO stuff was stored in a basement in PA that got flooded by Hurricane Agnes in 1972. The only thing that survived was my N scale stuff that was in the upstairs of the house.

I remember the commercials. They ran mostly just before Christmas.

All right , thanks fellas for reassuring me and my memory. I knew I wasn't going senile. Now, I can settle the argument. Maybe I'll make a little bet with him. [IMG]

Max, If you need proof I know there is a Lionel book out, can't remember which one, that actually has still shots of the old TV commercials in it. Someone on the O scale forum might be able to point you to the right one.
