Thanks Mark!!! That's exactly what I was looking for!! Do you know what if any prep needs to be done to the pink foam board in order to get the plaster cloth to adhere to it? Thanks again!!
You can score it lightly with coarse sand paper or with a wire brush, but be light on the brush...it is a great tool for scouring away lots of the foam in just a few strokes. And/or, you can coat the needy areas with acrylic latex caulk to provide a toothy surface. That is what you want to create...lots of angles and peaks and valleys, providing a rough and greater surface area for the plaster to conform to with matching negative relief. This will help to keep it in place.
Thanks Crandell!! Now does anyone know what brand of smoke generator would be good for the smoke stack of the brewery I'm building for him?
I pulled up this thread to give a long overdue thank you to one and all who helped me design and build my nephews layout. I flew up to New Yourk and we built it in ten days, ten very long days. So sorry to see Wolfgang passed. Never met him in person, but he was always so very helpful on here. Thanks again everyone. We are now working on his second HO scale layout, and a new indoor outdoor G scale layout!
Why is this thread on the N scale forum? The OP is asking about an HO layout. Should not the tread be transferred to the HO forum???
It's an older topic. When we had the "Big Glitch" a few years ago, most topics were dumped into one forum. A few were scattered all across our site. Some disappeared to we know not where. And when we were hand sorting them back to their original forums, a few were mis-located. It was one 7734 of a job, which took about a year and a half of thankless work. Some errors occurred.....
