I'm renting a room in a house. I am getting the bug again to have any kind of layout size at all. It'll be a fictitious point to point HO switching layout. It will basically be a wedge or flying-wing shape in corner of room. Looking from the top, longest edge against the east wall will be 10'. Past that a 4" wide x 30" long, out of scene section will serve as bench work for quick 0-5-0 staging (or maybe cassette) track. About the same will be at other end of wedge on the north wall but will serve here as both a switchback tail & yard drill-track. Of course only 4-5 car trains will be ran on this road. (love small, bucolic, mixed trains w/caboose, Ops.. And at end of daily trick at dusk, steaming in reverse, 10 miles back home/ Offices/engine house for night, after dumping the ashes). There will be a secondary main line at very rear which curves 90 Deg. (N.) and about 5"- 7" above flat-ply central real estate, from east. This east (right) end will sit directly above and be same shape as staging below it and too will be staging (of main's interchange with outer world ). At midway (corner of room) this main will descend (via cookie-cutter style) to merge with the north, yard-tail track (less than a 1% total grade in main [I think]). This much I know will exist. It's what goes on in central area in the wedge I'm not sure of .. I am picturing a track from east (right end's) lower staging to come from out from under a low bridge (for main line above) into central area where the industry (lumber yard/coal dealer/shoe factory/spurs will compose the central theme of this small branch-line, switching configuration. The very back corner will have a large enough triangular pop-up to stand up in to reach mishaps. NCE/PowerCab. Two small steam/one RS3/ 52"- 60" high bench. Lots of side view for me. Yeah !.
Any ideas are welcome. Anyone have a similar shaped layout ? No, I will not change to N or Z scale. Thanks ....M ..Sorry, only pics I have you've already down loaded in your mind..
