    Hey guys,
I've began and have almost completed a rather large engine house. I'm working on detailing the insides, (yes I put a full interior in it!) Anyway what manufacturers make lathes, and milling machines in HO scale and things of such? To put inside the joining machine shop and also office type details on its insides?

Also, if possible if anyone knows of a company that has a site that shows these parts would be a real help incase they may have different variations of them to view so I know what I want and all with looks and so on... THANKS guys!

Check Walthers' site. I believe I saw some machine tools there, not sure but I believe they're made by Detail Associates. I have seen such items in my local hobby shop for sure.

In case you don't know where it's at, Walthers' site is http://www.walthers.com

    John,
The Detail Associates lathe & drill press are both older belt driven types. Preiser makes more modern looking stuff depending on what you're after. They also make some other stuff like pallet jacks and lift trucks which could be useful. I have plans to build one for a diesel era layout, but I let my brother take the buildings to assemble them and now he's getting a divorce, so I can't get them back until he goes to court.

Hope we get to see yours when you're finished. ;)

    Thanks Slim,
The set i'm looking for is for the steam era that would be in the 1940's to the early 1960's. For in a engine house for my articulated steamers and so on... But I hope I find something to work or be close to the era... I'm not modeling the diesel era so... I don't believe they will do me any good.... Not for the steam era anyway... :D Thanks for the heads up though I might find something with buying a few difference kits and putting different pieces to my engine house for my B&O loco's. And anything thats not usefull, will end up in the engine house for my Western Maryland engine house being they had deiselized alot faster then the B&O did! Might work out pretty good if I buy a few different sets for different parts in each set. So.. I believe it will turn out really well....

    Ben,
I've noticed! I had looked at a friends box full of them and found a pack that had some gearing (non-working) for good shop details for "junk" laying around against walls and such... Sure beats trying to make them yourself! But then again I made a few from a patern from a real HO scale Athearn diesel! How fun it is to make your own detail parts! :D
