Offering the following to anyone interested: A signed and dated copy of Mike Dannemans latest book, Last of a Breed. Had 2 copies signed and dated today. Just opened this morning, before leaving for train show! Book can be shipped in original packaging, including the latest McMillan Publishing catalog, that was enclosed with order. Contact me for more. Thanks.
I got one on order thru my dealer, who had any that were ordered, autographed while at Denver's GTE! I should be seeing it soon, along with cork, and track to lay on my HCD layout...
Oh, man, what a book! I got my signed copy today, and paged thru the first third... Wow. That's all I can say. The photography, the stories, everything is so well compiled... I'll report back after I've had a better chance to read it.
I still have not read the book for content, but have paged thru it, and man, what a piece! Mr. Danneman did a fine job of assembling all the outstanding photos; incorporating all the seasons, and included some night shots. For those of us who followed D&RGW's last surviving tunnel motor, #5371, we noted that it once had no-class block lettered numbers on the hogger's side of the cab. After a read of the last chapter of Mike's book, I learned that Mike himself, and Rich Farewell (of Rio Grande Secret Places book fame) removed the old number, prepped and painted on the new one! Too cool!
