Hi guys, I just purchased two Atlas MP15's bogies, and I was wondering if anyone else has tried to build a Chassis out of Styrene to fit them. Any ideas? Their Bolster is similar to the one of the LL Sw9, however it's different for some particulars.
    Thanks to all!
    cheers

I think MP15DC trucks are essentially the same as GP trucks (Blomberg's, if memory serves) and I seem to recall that the trucks between the MP15DC and other Atlas model(s) are even interchangeable.....but I could have this wrong as I haven't ever tried it.

Within families, Atlas trucks are interchangeable..........GP7-35,SD9-35,ect MP15's were designed to go out on the mainline if needed, so they had road-switcher trucks, so the trucks on your MP are probably the same as one of the smaller Atlas GP's. I don't have one to check though. You might try checking part numbers on the Atlas site.

    Matteo,
Would help to have some idea of what your project is. Are you scratchbuiding a locomotive, or trying to constuct a dummy frame, for instance? For most purposes, you could purchase chassis parts from Atlas- but those parts would be metal. Just curious as to why you would want to build a styrene frame around these trucks. Do you want to be able to power them? If so, with what?
