Another thing I noticed about the F40PHs is there are two structures on the roof right above the windshield. square in shape. Google wasn't of any real use, once again (it seems there is a bias against the Chicago operations). The closest I came was a diagram of a model and it indicated they are air conditioning units, which makes sense except the ones on the Chicago locos are lit up. Why would A.C. units be lit up? Strange.

Wow, that IS huge indeed. When I go Christmas shopping, there's sometimes a bit of a lump in my throat when I recollect old times, the grand department stores and what's been lost to retailer mergers and the Internet.

I might have spied the C&NW heritage unit this evening.

Yes, that looks like it. It's yellow on the front and has the C&NW badge on the front and it kind of looks like that in the picture although my eyesight isn't that good.

I was watching/listening this morning and there was a gal that that came on and said something like she ...didn't know because she doesn't work with this equipment... and then later ...what do y'all mean. I'm not sure where I am... and I thought, "Yikes! What the heck? I hope she's not an employee!"

Oh, and another GP15 in Chicago is number UPY 711

I think it would be neat if all the Metra cars were that white with the blue strip down the side and red pin stripes at the top and bottom. Maybe not as neat as yellow and green but...

Maybe just a few silver cars for variation.

I finally caught the C&NW F40 "Winnebago" on the east view but do you think I could get the printscreen to work? Does the video have to be running or is it supposed to work if you pause it?

You can pause it and/or run the slider back and forth the cover many hours of past activity. Last night watching live, I saw three inbound scoots all running nearly parallel to each other. Really neat.

Haven't confirmed this. But try pausing the video, then double-clicking that frame. If it expands, right-click, then copy the frame, and save it to Word, or an image folder, or other storage folder. I do this with Facebook and other social media. May work with a TB video. Good Luck.

Tonight, there is something going on around tracks 12, 13, 14 right near the shed. All kinds of bright lights, vehicles, flashing lights.

Windows 10 and when prtsc is pressed, that's supposed to copy the screen shot to the clipboard but when I open an app. to view it, nothing's on the clipboard. It's not like I'm new to this stuff. It must be something different with Windows as I am relatively new to 10.

For Windows 10, on your keyboard:

Press the Windows logo button + Shift button + S.

A small pop up should appear at screen top. Hover over the "Full Screen Snip" icon and press it. Paste into your preferred photo editing software.

    OK, thanks, Ken. Worked.

Actually, it is Logo - shift - s that worked.

I am losing my mind. You DO have shift in your post. I could have sworn you had crtl!

Thanks Hank but when double clicking it just toggles between play and pause. Ken informed me of the Windows 10 method, above.

The activity last night was just track maintenance/repair. I heard one of the crew talking about rail. It was about 5:15 am before they were done.

Then there was some guy talking about removing the stock rails and filing notches in them for the point rails and something about, "...like with Kato..." Just kidding. :D

I wonder if they were working on that double-slip switch right out from track 12.

Here's GP15 723, unfortunately in shadow, in the east view:

I know I read somewhere the orange along the top sides of some of the F40s is to commemorate the orange when the Illinois Central had the chocolate/orange scheme.

That must be the CTA trains that have the little high-pitched "whistles" on them, right? They're kind of fun to watch, too, as hey kind of slow down to see if there's anybody waiting at the stop and, if not, fairly rapidly accelerate back up to speed. Other times, they just keep moving at about the same speed.
