here is a link to a new you tube video from Rokuhan for a grade crossing set to be available in 3 configurations, Europe, Japan and North America can be single roadway or a dual roadway crossing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fjs3DtcZcsk
Intriguing .....the NA prototype looks *ok* especially for Z. I guess these would be operational? I've never been a fan of the Kato ones in N--especially since they don't work with DCC--but I might give these a shot depending on how they work. (and assuming they also work with DCC, which isn't a given) I wish they would work on a Wye next... Thanks for sharing the video.
Garth, These are a needed item for Z scale Since they have been hard to find! Also be outstanding like markm, said if they are operational even better!Rokuhan has been doing some great pieces for the US train modelers. It was to bad about the turntable! I wanted it just because of the working doors that was great Ideal maybe later they might update it to working doors.
For my edification (any perhaps Rokuhan) how does one make an operational crossing signal that is DCC unfriendly?
I would have to research further to give you a definitive answer, but I'm pretty sure the issue is that the Kato crossing in N has detection circuitry (to cause the gates to engage) that cannot handle the higher voltage of DCC.
