Hello to all, New guy from Eastern Colorado here. I have been into model railroading off and on since my childhood. After a 15 year or so hiatus I have decided to jump back in. I have modeled mostly in N scale in the past, building three layouts, two of them to completion. Because of space limitations and my prior N scale experience I have decided to stick with N. Other than scale, I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet so I will be hanging out here, learning and contributing as I can. A couple of exciting things, at least for me, my wife is interested in the hobby too! She is very excited to contribute with layout planning and in particular, scenery. I'm looking forward to her participation in something I enjoy. Quite frankly I was shocked about how interested she is. I also have four year old twin boys who are totally infatuated with anything and everything to do with trains. While they are too young to contribute for now, I think they will enjoy it too. We all made a trip to Caboose Hobbies over the weekend to pickup a few books and oogle at all of the trains. My wife and the boys had a good time!
Welcome to TrainBoard! It's very good to read of your family being so supportive and interested as well.
Another Colorado railroader joins us! Welcome, I am up in Ft Collins myself. If you enjoyed your visit last weekend to Caboose, make sure you get down to the National Western Arena in Denver this weekend for the Great Train Show! Lots of vendors and lots of modular layouts on display! My wife said I have to leave my credit card at home, so it looks like I'll be hitting the ATM and paying with cash!!
Welcome from Longmont. An N Scaler, 3 railer and G Scaler myself! Unfortunately, work schedule keeps me from participating, or I'd have my N track modules set up. If I'm lucky, I may go to the show Sunday morning, after I get home from work.
Thanks for the warm welcome! We do plan on attending the show, probably Saturday so we can watch football Sunday. If you see somebody there with two little guys that look the same in in tow that is probably us:tb-biggrin:
Welcome to TrainBoard! I was a Cheyenne, WY resident for a few years, and spent plenty of time in the CO mountains chasing the old D&RGW. I'm an N scaler, and dabble in Z as well.
