    Hello all.

I've been into model trains most of my life starting out on HO scale as a kid G scale since 1996 and now into Z scale- getting older don't like the cold any longer. I built 16 pieces of my own rolling stock and have kit bashed the rest 450 cars. All of my engines are kit bashed also 76 engines. I love the narrow gauge trains the best but I do run 1:29 also. My outdoor layout is down right now because I had to remove the leg by our house to add on for my mother when my dad passed lest year. Been reworking the yard since with all the ruts from the tractors. My layout consisted of 2 690 foot loops around the yard and a large rail yard. Some towns along the way. It wasn't complete before I had to tare it down. Next spring I plan to down size it to a dog leg shape around the flower beds and Koi pond. It will still be 150 X 50. It got to be over whelming taking care of the big layout yard gardens so I need to do this to enjoy running. My trains run out a basement window I modified so I could keep everything indoors. I got into Z because my best friend, trains, camping and music buddy of 35 years passed away. His wife gave me some of the Z stuff. 40 cars, 10 engines and all the fixins to build a nice 3 X 5 foot layout to run in the new family room. I don't think I'll be kit bashing any of these- phew I can barely get them onto the track. My other passion is music Old time, Bluegrass and Jazz, I play the upright bass, guitar, mandolin and Ukulele.
So enough about me I look forward to meeting you all here and making some news friends to share the joy of model railroading. Doug
