I've been checking the Marklin Users.Net Discussion Forum each day for any mention of new Z for 2006 - nothing so far. My German hobby store contacts have not heard anything either, I will check with them again next week. I will be at the Nuremberg Toy Show on 6 Feb. I am sure that the new Z will be there. If allowed I will take some photos and get material to post. John Bartolotto
Welcome to the trainboard John! I have read many of your posts on other groups and I am glad to see you post here. Please do take pictures of the new marklin items. I am interested myself to see what they come out with this year.
Yes, do keep us posted. I hope they come out with another US product, and I would think that an NP 2-8-8-2 Malley would be real cool using that mechanism from the blue Malley they did recently. Even another paintscheme for the Mogul, with a set of the old timers in NP would be cool too! Or even put the Mogul shell on a 10 wheeler like the Casey Jones set, in maybe... NP? -Robert
Hi John, Welcome aboard here. I think slowly but surely most of the Z Scale Yahoo group will migrate here or so I hope.... Can't wait to see the pix if you get them!!! We'll calll you Scoop Best, Michael
So far, all I heard about is the repaint of the Casey Jones set. I want one of the locomotives, but can care less for the cars. -Robert
It's not Marklin, but Uncle just e-mail me a picture of his cylindrical cover hopper. It looks great. It will be produce by Bowser, I think. Boy, 2006 will be the year z makes it big. Come to think of it, it looks like everybody is expanding into Z scale, while Marklin is shrinking.
Here it is on the Marklin site: http://www.maerklin.de/produkte/neuheiten_international.html?sCountryCode=en Click on New Products 2006, then Go to page 13, about halfway down the page, Z Scale starts with: 80017 ”Kaiser Brauerei” Z Museum Car Set for 2006. Not much new for 2006. Have fun, Michael
