Hi Everyone, I am reintroducing myself to the hobby I loved so much as a kid. The only difference is I want to take it a bit further this time (better scenery, DCC (maybe?) but probably DC, something more substantial looking/working). Since I live in a tiny 18th c. house in Philadelphia, I plan on building a 2'x3' Z scale layout I can carry around with me when I inevitably move. Any Z scale experts out there? I would love to pick your brain about the best track to use and the best ways to wire it up in addition to the best ways to keep costs as low as possible. Thanks! -Josh
Welcome TrainBoard! We have some very talented Z folks aboard here, as well as some excellent knowledge of DCC. Check out our forums for those and ask your questions!
Thanks, so much for welcoming me to the site. Looking forward to getting my questions answered! There's certainly a lot of information online, but after a while, it all starts to blend together rendering it less useful.
I think you'll find we have some very active Z Scalers who will probably be quite willing to help. Take a look through the existing Z Scale threads for things which may be useful or inspiring, and ask away! Welcome aboard.
Hi Josh, welcome aboard. I am amazed how detail and variety is available with Z Scale. I look forward to seeing what you create.
Welcome and enjoy your venture back into the hobby. You must have some really good eye sight I model in N Scale and it can be challenging for me, but I am old! Good luck, and show us your progress.
Welcome Aboard Josh, as new back to the hobby myself last year to N scale I am amazed at the new DCC technologies with sound in N. Enjoy.
