I have added a number of photos to the Lewman's Photos, Michigan Division, North page. This includes photos of three wrecks. He is working on a 'wrecks' page write up and I have many more photos of the NYC to scan and put up as well as several stories from him on steam operation and more. It just takes time, but we'll get there. In the meantime, stop by the RRs of Madison County site at: http://madisonrails.railfan.net/ go to the photo album page and take the Michigan Division, North link near the top of the page. Enjoy
Roger, It's great to see real railroading here, and more of Maurice's memories. Thanks for alerting us. How many wrecks is he going to cover?
In photos so far, there are three and descriptions of more to come. I still have a stack of photos and other info to go through. With all of this, I don't know how I ever had time to work (I'm retired now). For those who may need an incentive to look... (Photo by Maurice Lewman)
I saw the pic of that caved-in NYC caboose, and one thought comes to mind- did anybody survive that one? (looks like it came out on the wrong end of rear-end collision)
The two men in the caboose were not injured. They ran like crazy when it was apparant that the second train was not going to stop. The three men in the cab of the engine that hit it all died. Here is the cab of the locomotive. Photo by Maurice Lewman
