I used to build with my father, but he has long since past and have an 9 year old boy who is somewhat interested. My wife thinks that this is another phase, but I just love it. I have spent about 2 grand on new locos (Bachmann and MTH) and am learning as I go along. I have an elevated man cave set up that is just 9 inches from the ceiling and have 18 engines that are all dcc. My wife and son don't seem to get it but are being patient. Wait til Christmas!

    Hello pjmack,

Welcome to the board. You did not specify your location. In answer to your question: 1) search the internet for train clubs in your area. 2) Get a copy of a train magazine (Model Railroader, Classic toy Trains, Railroad Modeler, etc..) Usually, in the back of the magazine, in the classified section, there is a listing for clubs. 3) find a local hobby / train shop in your area. They sometimes have flyers / info for clubs. 4) Go to a train show in your area. There is usually a table with club flyers on it.

    Hope this helps.

    Welcome to TrainBoard!

You might also post in our HO Forum. There might be someone who'd know of a club or even be local to wherever you are located.
