    Hello, everyone. A friend of my is looking to give me a Corvette set (locomotive, two flat cars, and a caboose) he had lying dormant. His friend gave it to him many years before and used to run it around his Christmas tree then. I own a few N-scale stuff mostly for display and I have never looked into learning how to maintain them to be roadworthy, but I certainly going to now.

    There is a dearth of information on this set and I was wondering if it had any specific needs to watch out for when I clean it up. He already gave me a FM Pennsylvania Trainmaster, and thankfully Lionel has the guide for it on-line.

    If you know anything that I can use, it would be much appreciated.

    This set, does it have one flat car with two newer Corvettes, and the with two older models of 'Vette? A lot of red and white?

    Shouldn't need anything special. I cannot think of anything out of the ordinary. Care and maintain just like any other Lionel O.

    [h=1]LIONEL 11984 CORVETTE GP-7 DIESEL TRAIN SET[/h]Looks like 1999.
    Seen all sorts of asking prices, none what I would consider realistic (like, no way would I pay $800 for something to repaint).
    Saw one new for $500...better.

    I'd not be surprised if a bit of any price is driven by the Corvette collectors who accumulate anything related.
