My new train room is now completed. The wallpaper and carpet are in and now just need to start the bench work. I hope to have a plan of the layout on my web site in the near future. Site address; www.members.iquest.net/~leghome/index.html The site is also linked to the Central Indiana Division/MWR/NMRA where information can be found on the HOOSIER CONNECTION our spring Regional Convention next year. ------------------ Larry E. Larry, welcome to trainboard, I had a look at your site and wish you all the luck for your layout. The room looks great all you need now is a little benchwork and some track . Keep us updated with your progress. Let us know when you have posted your track plan. I have just posted my new layout extension which you can see on the layout extension forum or feel free to visit my site Regards Paul ------------------ Paul Cassar-# Member number 50 ICQ 61198217 http://users.bigpond.net.au/railroad2000
Larry, I had a look at your site. Best of luck with the layout, please keep us informed. I liked the preparation of the room pictures How big is the room? (It look to have more space than mine ) ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery

The room is 11' X 15'3" but on the west wall I had to build a small shelf for the baseboard hot water heat to mount to. So actual floor size is 10'3" X 15'3" which is a very good size room for N scale. As the one picture shows, the one with the door in right hand corner, there will be shelves on the west wall so no real loss of floor space. there will be three stacks of drawers under the layout for storage. 18 drawers that are 2'X 2'6" will give me plenty of stashing area for those unbuilt kits and other unused as yet items. ------------------ Larry E. I'm anxious to see your layout plan. : cool: I have a preliminary plan, and the room I will be using is almost exactly the same dimensions as yours. I'm curious to see just how much we can jam into it! Keep us posted! ------------------ Mark Weiher Trainboard Member #60
I have seen Larry's layout plan. It has already changed a couple of times to make more room for fat old men like me to move around without their belly knocking over locos and cars. This is Larry's second layout. The first gained him experience in trackwork and wiring. This one has all the earmarks of being a great, well planned, N scale layout ("Film at 11.") that should be fun to build and operate. BTW Larry, if you need some help creating your e-Pass, let me know. Roger Roger Hensley - rhensley@anderson.cioe.com == http://cid.railfan.net/eci_new.html == == East Central Indiana Railroad ==
The new layout design is now on site ------------------ Larry E. Gilbert ASST. Superintendent Central Indiana Division MWR/NMRA
I started the workings of a plan that would have let me model the BNSF and UP diamond north of Denver in about the same space, but my mom shot me down and decided to make that room the 'Guest Room'! Man, i would have been able to model so much varied equipment... Now i'll have to settle for a 'switching' type layout with staging drastically reduced... Good luck with yours though!

Tunnel don't worry about the room, once you are married and have your own house your mother won't be able to tell you what you can and can't do. she will be replaced by your wife and kids hehehehehe. ------------------ Paul Cassar-# Member number 50 ICQ 61198217 http://users.bigpond.net.au/railroad2000
The layout looks nice! Plenty of mainline! Will operators have access on both sides of the peninsula? Also, are you going to run DCC? ------------------ Mark Weiher No Real Claim to Fame, except I'm Trainboard Member #60
The island will have access from both sides. Where the island starts at the wall is north, so the island runs south-southwest. West of where the island meets the wall will be my workbench. Under the layout will be three stacks of 6 drawers for a total of 18 2'X 2'6" storage compartments. These drawer units came out of a Hallmark Card shop that my wife was working at that was remodeled. Price was right FREE all I had to do was haul them off. I am looking at DCC but still undecided. Finances will be the deciding factor in making the decision on DCC. I would like to go that route but with block wiring it is easy to switch over to DCC. [This message has been edited by leghome (edited 22 September 2000).]
Mr Casser, your words speak volumes. You have oviously been there are doing that. But what the heck we're still having FUN!!!! ------------------ Catt!#118
