Here's a photo that I uploaded to the RailImages site that is a side by side comparison of the new vs. old CSX schemes (sorry, the distance and lighting did not make for a stallar photo ) Harold [ 19. November 2002, 00:55: Message edited by: chessie ]
another nice picture as usual! I spotted CSX # 674 and 769 in the new Blue/Yellow paint job with White roofs, and CSX 8051 tied in between with a train of old TTX flatcars heading for the storage heap in Gassaway, WV.
Pat, Funny you mention that.... I heard there were a bunch of TTX cars that passed thru town here recently destined for a storage line.. I would like to see some 700 series units,,,, ( SD70's, right?) Harold
yeah, the local line here has been purely coal traffic up until about 10 years ago. Now there's a Weyerhauser in Burnsville so there's 2-3 boxcar trains with 40 cars each per week. and now flatcars. Finally variety
Here's a much better shot (lighting wise) for comparison of the newest paint scheme vs. the YN2: Harold
Harold, I still like the YN-2 and not the Dark Future...... To much "drab" blue on the loco's and that yellowish gold lettering doesn't help it none! It be ok if they would have used the same shade of yellow, it wouldn't be so bad...Painted like the #1992 was, but with the new colors and sceme! That would have been ok. But this newest sceme isn't the greatest!
