Hi, I am kind of newish to n scale. I have had a little collection of locomotives, track and rolling stock. Most of it is atlas along with some bachmann. I have 2 trainman sets so 2 gp15s, a bachmann consolidation, bachmann 2-6-2 and 0-6-0 for my steam locos, a kato sd45, an old atlas gp7, a life like sw1200, A atlas mp15dc and varied rolling stock from mostly sets. I use the altas true track i think its called? Anyways, I am new to the forum and joined because I am thinking of doing my first kitbash. I want to eventually make a real layout instead of a track on the carpet. I am thinking of doing bnsf because I have all of the bn locos I like along with the np, gn, and atsf steam. Also sprinkle in some canadian pacific and soo line stuff. I joined because I wanted to know what to use to kitbash Northern Pacific 328 because I have always liked that locomotive and I really like those little branch line steamers. It used to run in by taylors falls right next to wisconsin and by stillwater next to wisconsin. Both really nice little towns.

Hi, and welcome. Follow up on Ken's suggestion. Lots of our N-Scale members have bashed steamers and posted excellent descriptions with photos. Don't worry that they may not have bashed the steamer you have in mind, the techniques are all similar. It's only the details that are different.
Welcome from a fellow Minnesotan. I used to go to/through Mankato (on the way to just east of Sleepy Eye) all the time for my last job. I have never really done any kitbashing so I'm of absolutely no help. Now, if you want to know anything about Atlas' first generation locos... Also, I was born and raised in Austin, home of Spam (the real Spam) but, more importantly, where Milwaukee Road 4-6-0 1004 resides, last steamer run on the Milwaukee Road. Doug
