Hello all... I was wondering if anyone has used the Boulder Creek Engineering NightScope IR detectors on their layouts. I'm planning on hooking these up to the sensor inputs of a DS64 and ultimately use them to automate my layout. Any thoughts?

Those look interesting. I'm not exactly sure how they would hook up wit a DS 64. But I sure would like to know.

I contacted the vendor and he sent me this drawing detailing how it hooks up to the DS64. The DS64 has 8 inputs - 4 are normally used as manual switches to control the 4 turnouts, and 4 more sensors that can be used to sense the position of the turnout, or any other sensor input you want. If you don't need the ability to have manual switches for your turnouts, then you can configure the DS64 to use the 4 switch inputs as sensor instead. In that case, the DS64, in addition to controlling 4 turnouts, can monitor 8 generic sensors or block occupancy detectors.
