Bummer -- I just learned from a friend at the company I retired from that NS is not producing a 2021 calendar. :( I'm not sure if it's a result of COVID and/or cost cutting, but this will mark the first time in perhaps 20+ years that an NS calendar hasn't graced our kitchen refrigerator. Their calendars featured excellent photos all taken by employees and I was always able to get one through my employer, a large rail shipper.

I'll dig through my box of old NS, Anthracite Roads, Atlanta Chapter NRHS and other railroad calendars to see what I can find -- calendars from 2010, 1999, 1993 and 1982 will work for 2021. If all else fails, I'll have to actually BUY a calendar.

CSX has also offered a calendar in past years and it's been much improved of late, but NS's was still better. Not sure what the status of CSX's 2021 calendar is.

Yup, BNSF via the Facebook "Friends of BNSF" group sends out calendars still I always appreciate the views, especially when ND mades the cut! The local Trainmaster (Erich Linser) does phenomenal work.

Sad NS isn't doing that, but if you still have it, that 1982 version would have some killer views of Fs, high hood GP30s, and other stuff long-hood-forward in daily service. Probably a view on Saluda, as it was still operating, and 611?

Ends up that I retained a copy of NS's 2010 calendar and an Atlanta Chapter NRHS 1993 calendar, both of which are suitable for 2021. All set for another year and at $0.

Fast forward ten months from the last post and I don't see 2022 calendars at the NS Company store website. If any of my colleagues remain at my former employer, I'll see if they are aware of a 2022 calendar.

I did see this fun 2GB jump drive on the NS website. VERY clever I must say. :)

I got the 2020 calendar for Union Pacific, but haven't gotten the 2021 calendar for UP yet either. Hmm..

To add to the topic of railroad calendars, they could actually be a fine collector's item for those interested.

Thankfully I've kept my old NS calendars, so I can "recycle" older years as I did this year using a 2010 calendar. I also have some old calendars from the Anthracite Roads Historical Society, the Atlanta Chapter NRHS and others So, for 2022, I'll probably need to dig through my boxes to find some from 2011, 2005, 1994 or 1983. :)

My least used old calendar is from 1976 from the PRRT&HS. It was a leap year, so I used it in 2004. Its next usable year is 2032!

I found two perfect leap-year matched 1996 railroad calendars in my collection, so I'm all set for 2024 at a cost of $0. One from NS, one from the Atlanta Chapter NRHS.
