    Saw tracks. No trains.
Saw sheep, saw cows, saw horses saw pigs.
Saw more stone walls than I ever thought existed.

Perhaps Saint Patrick drove them out with the snakes.

Iarnrod Eireann *does* run trains....REALLY!! (and don't you just LOVE that name.... the Irish Iron Road!). Maybe a shot of Bushmill's would help you see them..... :D

I heard that the lawyers chased all of the trains out of there. [IMG] [IMG]

Wow, Ianrod Eireann has "Special Trains on Sale!" I think I'll buy the Cork City FC Special! It might be a bit out of my time era but, if the price was right . . .?

Was it a weekend? They are spending a bomb on track and signalling upgrades so you were probably in a possession period (work window).

Mark, you would have seen only 'some' of the walls and did you note any Leprechauns or follow any rainbows per chance? ;)

Uh-oh! Here it comes! Wonder if orange, white, and green were the original colors for D&H?

No, not this time and I won't go into the "political" and other details but understand WHITE is for PEACE that brought the other two together.

    Mark:

Ireland has a few trains. You just haven't found them yet. Are there any Train shops around?

Have a wondeful trip. When are you returning to the states?

Take care. Give my best to Jeanne.... [IMG]

I thought this was going to be about the song that goes "Ireland must be heaven cause the Monon don't go there".

I didn't know if they had trains over in Ireland, but I do know the Irish built all the RRs in the USA. With some help from the Chinese and Germans.

    Isn't Ireland our 51st State?

This thread will probably go to the Cattle Car soon as being off topic, but...

I used to fly around Ohio and Pennsylvania and one of the captains I flew with used to point out a round lake. This round lake was dug by hand in the early 1800s and was used as some part of the Erie Canal system. It was (I believe) dug by mostly Irish labor. So the Irish were probably first, but, indeed, the Chinese and Germans were there, too.

Anyone know about such a lake?

OTOH, I guess this is railroad history, of a sort.

Found a Signal Tower. Found two tank cars. Found God knows what stuck on a display section.
    Found two bridges.

    Pictures 11/28-29

Not ONE shop, not in Dublin, Galway, Ennis, Kenmare and all points between. Not N, not HO. I looked.
