Hi, a few of you know about and are helping me with suggestions about keeping my layout in place during reflooring of my apartment..But, if it comes down to being forced by landlord to remove it, does anyone have first hand experience with ways of cutting sub-roadbed (1/2" ply) while hopefuly retaining much of the track and cork on it ? What I mean is, perhaps I can, with rail clippers cut say, 8 inches or less of flex track and remove these sections of track where I'd then jig saw across sub-roadbed in the center of where track just was, and at both ends of long sections like this and lift sections away, risers having been unscrewed at top. Many ply pieces will have turnouts in track, but I'd first get the rail joiners connecting TOs to other TOs (like a crossover) or to other track off of the rail ends..The objective being to of course to retain open-grid bench work (also severed into a few sections), long sub-roadbed sections, store it all and then reinstall it all after flooring job, nearly or exactly right where it all was and with risers still attached, having first re-added legs and rear frame stringer re-screwed into wall studs as it also was..Is this pie in the sky dreaming ? Have any of you achieved this same layout moving/replacing this way ?
