The May 1970 issue of Model Railroader includes scale drawings of the NP Challenger (and for those of NP's subsidiary SP&S). The article also includes some very nice photos of some of the prototypes from several angles, including the tender. I found a copy of this in a pile of old MR magazines. It occured to me that this might be useful to a fellow N scaler who might be trying to adapt an Athearn Challenger model to look like an NP or SP&S Challenger. Since I don't think this magazine has any really market value, and trying to get someone to pay for the postage is more trouble than it's worth, I will send this free to someone in the USA (I don't feel like dealing with international postage for this). I will not make copies of this since it is copywrite protected. All I ask is that whoever requests this actually be someone who can make good use of it. To the mods, I considered posting this in the for sale section of Trainboard, but I thought it would get lost there, and that I was more likely to find a good home for this magazine by posting here. I apologize if I am breaking any procedure. I will post here in this thread once this is spoken for.
CarlH, I would be more than happy to take this off your hands. I have very good use for it. I think you can contact thru TB. Look up Socalz44. Thanks, Jim CCRR
It would also be useful to modelers working with this kit: This would be of value to several of us. Dave
I sent this off via US mail today to Socalz44. (I couldn't see any reason not to send this to the person who got in the first request).
