I took these on March 12th 2005 in Concord. Anyone from the immediate area that knows where JN Fries Middle School is,These were taken behind the school on the NS Mainline. NS 9976 in Primer heading Northbound under the Highway 49 bridge. NS 7122 Heading Southbound NS 8839 Heading South Amtrak Piedmont 74 Heading North on its Daily trip to Raleigh,NC. This is at about 5:55pm,About 25 mins into its trip.
The only place I have ever tried to shoot trains in Concord was near the center of town by one of those old mills(?). I came away empty handed though, as the trains were being shy. Harold
Thanks Harold! If you were in the middle of town around the old mills I would assume that is the old Canon Mills. Which has now been shut down from operation for years but remains a bit of a tourist place it seems..Last I heard they were debating demolishing it but that would be upsetting to alot of folks,even me as both my grandpa's worked there,etc. There were Thousands employeed there YEARS and YEARS ago. P.S. Seems like trains do kinda go in invisiable mode through that section of concord...wonder where they hide!!!
