NS to acquire 50 more locomotives Owing to continuing increases in traffic levels, Norfolk Southern has announced it will acquire 50 4,000-h.p. General Electric ES40DC locomotives in addition to the 52 EMD SD70M-2s announced previously for 2005. When both orders are completed, the railroad will roster nearly 4,000 locomotives. I'd much rather see 102 SD70M-2s and no more GE units With over 1000 D940-CW's, it gets pretty boring. Besides, the SD70's come in in a much nicer primer color! Harold
