Does anyone have any info on the proposed deal by Ohio Central to purchase some of the ex-Pennsy Panhandle line? I saw a short article on this topic about a week and a half ago, but haven't heard a thing about it since. Thanks for any input!

Neil- Welcome aboard! In past years, I have heard references to a PRR "Panhandle" line. Can someone explain to me where this portion of the PRR once ran? Was this anything to do with their Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago & St.Louis subsidiary? Boxcab E50
Boxcab- Yes, this did have something to do with the PCC&StL. The Panhandle is an often confusing route. Depending on the time period and person you ask, you may get 10 different answers as to what the Panhandle Route was exactly. But to simply answer your question using my understanding of what it is in "nowadays" terms... This line is the Pennsy line that ran from Pittsburgh to St Louis. Someone else maybe able to fill you in on the exact details of the history of this route.
