I was walking along the river in Charleston, the CSX mainline being on the opposite side, yesterday. The line is always busy with coal and grain trains, typically headed by a 2-engine lashup of whatever modern GE units they're using (sorry don't keep up with current era model designations). Along came an unusual train with SIX CSX diesels and one old BN diesel in the green/black scheme, complete with the white stripes on the nose. The sun was in my eyes and the train in the mountainside shadow, so it was hard to tell exactly what it was, looked like a GP-35/40 or I guess it could have been a SD-something. I just found it interesting to see it running with all those CSX units. The train itself was pretty short, mostly tank cars - nothing that merited such power.

There's still a few of those green BN locos out there......the other day I saw a train go through here with 5 locos on it.......2 BNSF locos, a CSX in bright future paint, a KCS in the grey with red letters scheme, and a Ferromex, headed east with a string of grain hoppers. Obviously some old locos from other railroads out there as well.
