I can remember getting my first Lionel set about 1933. My mother took me on the train from Gardner to Worcester, Mass. to some big department store to buy it as none of the stores in Gardner carried them. That was on the Peterboro Branch of the B&M and we rode on a pass as my dad was a signal maintainer. Still have that locomotive but it was modified by my dad so I could run it in both directions. He installed a dpdt switch on the roof to change the direction. We sometimes set up a loop at Christmas. Went from there to more Lionel and then to HO but don't have anything set up now. I still have some HO cars and locos stored away. Maybe someday.

Signalguy, you are 3 years older than I am, and time is slipping by man! Put some rails on a board and run something, or you will regret it after you die!

I had to stop and raise kids for over fifteen years, now I'm almost too old and feeble to finish the layout I got started. Git wid it man! Enjoy sumpin'!!! :D
