Anybody know where I can find those old Kato GE C30-7's??? I believe they came out with those in the late 80's... Trying to collect some BN equipment for my next layout... SD40
There's three U30C's out on Ebay right now, and two C30's While you can still get a couple shells from Kato, and a couple Ebay dealers sell stuff, the TRUCKS are next to impossible to find. Even used, these are a really good locomotive. I've got three of them.
Try this link: Amherst Depot C30. Prices posted at $130 per engine; they also have U30C's at $150 per.
Think I saw a couple on the yellow forum recently, I purchased 3 U30's last year from trainborad yellow forum
I bought a few of these just now & for the price the're going for,I'm tempted to buy the rest & re-sell them! But I'm not like that, check these ones out, they are "buy it now" & a VERY GOOD PRICE after convertion approx $70usd!!!,but postage may hurt you alittle bit.If he wont send o/s I'll buy them for you & send over.I bought all the SP ones but there is still a few left, mind you they are the 1st run,the early style shell but you can buy the M/T conversion to fit in the coupler pocket.Depends how bad you want some I guess. BN C30-7, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/N-SCALE-KATO...828QQihZ009QQcategoryZ486QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem BN U30C, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/N-SCALE-KATO...036QQihZ009QQcategoryZ486QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem He also has some SF & UP U30C's.Good luck.
Further to Jason's reply, the postage from Australia to the US should be around the US$9.00 mark. That's based on the average of AU$13.00 for an air parcel/satchel. If the seller is willing to ship O/S, I'd expect the postage to be the above as the postage stated within Australia is fairly on the money so no handling/packing material charges added.
try http://www.amherst-depot.com/Kato-N.C-30.htm Or http://www.frontiernet.net/~noela/noldis.htm (Noel Arnold) Both are expensive but most time have what is being looked for Best of luck Jerry
I do all mine in wire, so if you want an original set CUT OFF, PM me. But, KatoUSA (www.katousa.com) still shows C30-7 handrails available, part number 922051 (black) and 922052 (gray) for $5 each. Man, that's a deal. I've ordered from them direct before, it works if they actually have the parts in stock and not just on the web page.
Yeah, I was out of the hobby for about 10 years. Pulled a C30-7 out of it's case a few months ago and the thing runs like a watch. Now if I could just get my old Kato GP50s to run smoothly and quietly. Might have to just stick those on a ready track static display when I get my yard built.
Incredible!!I thought all these would have been snapped up over night.....espec. the prices they go for, these are a steal + the're all oop nib unrun units!!!!
GE 44-tonners in N If by that you mean "ready to run" the answer is no. If you mean can one be built fairly easily, the answer is yes. The former JnJ shell was being sold on eBay, which will take a Kato chassis. Another modeler was selling the truck sideframes. For the whole story (19 pages) see: http://therailwire.net/smf/index.php/topic,10354.0.html Looks like quite a few participated. :cat:
