Has anyone ever modified the coupler pockets on the old p2k gp 7/9/18 chassis???

I would like to mount the kadee couplers to sub-body

Just wondering if I am risking on pulling fatigue once mounted on the sill?

    Thanks,

What do you mean by "sub body"? I have the P2k SD9, and the couplers are screwed to the frame, (chassis) like most models. If you simply want to change the existing coupler to a Kadee, just unscrew and reattach with the new coupler. If you mean "sub body" as part of the overall model shell, I would be careful. I don't know if the front or back end of the locomotive would snap off under a heavy train.

Yes that is what I mean, the older chassis does not allow a full pilot because of the way the setup is for the coupler...
