Wonder how Steve Lee would have handled that slipping problem with 844 or 3985.......

Sounds like somebody needs to learn how to use their sanders.

    NP2152,

Sorry if it sounded like my post was in any way a snide remark directed at you. Please believe me, that was not my intent. My intent was just to gently tease those who so readily speculate about what is going on, especially with steam operations, without having any real information. The incredible amount of attention generated everywhere in the railfan community and over the internet over the minor incident with the 4449 and 700 in Portland last December being one example. So much excitement and speculation over what is unfortunatly, an all too common railroading experience, and long before any real details were available.

Having worked for years on a variety of mainline and tourist steam locomotive operations, I have found many of the rumors and stories I have heard to be both incredible and highly entertaining.

One of the problems with 2100 is all of the people involved with the locomotive had to sign a form about not passing info to the public so any relese of info will come from Golden Pacific RR web site or Tom Payne the owner of 2100.

So what ever is posted on the "chat board" is what people see from the other side of the fence at CEECO or standing by the side of the track

2100 has passed its FRA pressure test and former Milwaukee road E-9 36A is on its way from the mid-west to Tacoma for replacement of the F-40 PH and a new paint job in to one of the many milwaukee road colors, no choice has been made as of yet so watch www.gprr.com for updates!
