By chance would anyone know- Is there a site on the 'Net, where I could view older satellite images? I have a couple of places to research, for my model RR in planning. But really need stuff dated 1975-1980 time frame.

You might trying searching Google Images using "Aerial" as part of your search. This way you might find shots taken out of planes that might have what you are looking for.

Not an easy request, as all the online mapping services are fixating on being the most up-to-date and archival places want to sell their images. You might try these:

    EarthExplorer
    Cartographic and Architectural Records
Prints and Photographs Online Catalog (Prints and Photographs Reading Room, Library of Congress)

You can get raw two-element data sets from 1980-2004 here, though you'd have to get something that could turn the data into something meaningful:

    http://celestrak.com/NORAD/archives/

Here's a Wikipedia article that explains the how the data works and gives links to programs that can utilize it:

Geographic information system - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Good hunting.

    Flandry-

    Welcome to TrainBoard!

I'll give those links a try. I might just get lucky.
