Just a quick note. This Saturday, 2nd April, sees the Maryport Model Clubs exhibition at Netherhall school at Maryport in Cumbria. This small club are trying to establish this show initially as a one day one with ambitions to expand it to two days in the future. The show is open from 10 am to 5 pm Z interest will be my 'Midsomer Mardy' British outline layout being shown for the last time in its current form (As seen in Z-Track a couple of years ago) before the demolition crew move in! The cunning plan is to expand it to 8 foot long by the addition of an additional baseboard to allow much longer trains tom be run. The HST125 set looks a bit silly with only three coaches on for a start. The big news is that the board connections will be Z-Bend standard and we will debut the layout at this Autumns Zedex 2011 under the banner 'Midsomer goes Z-Bend' Hopefully this will provide some impetus to the U.K Z modellers thinking of dabbling in modular layouts. I am still undecided whether to put the Marklin Blast furnace on the new board ( Not really a match for the rural feel of the original layout and its going to need a lot of track) or have the main line running past a golf course with a club house that looks very much like the one at St Andrews! I think the Golf course will be a lot quicker to do Anyway, if anybody in the North West of England fancies the show I'll see them there KEV
