Heading to Orlando, FL, for Easter week. Any suggestions for good train watching spots?

    TIA,

    Mike,
I have not been train chasin' down there :( Although I don't know of any specific spots, when I travel to "unfamiliar territory", I always look for city maps, including those in the phone book. (You can also look up Railroads in the Yellow pages). They will generally lead you to the Amtrak station, freight office, or yards. And where there are tracks, hopefully trains too!

Maybe a "resident expert" can step in and help us out.

    Mike,
I grew up in Orlando, but only became a raifan after I started taking my son to watch the switching down in south Philly. I went home last year and found this site, http://hometown.aol.com/Dswpfl/flrr.html, pretty helpful. You'll see mentioned here the Central Fl RR. I drove up to their office and after signing a waiver, walked around the covered shed and admired the CF7 they were working on.

    Have a great time,
    Neal Fordham

    Hi Neal,

Glad to meet you. Thanks for the pointers. I'll let Wife and Daughter fight the crowds at Disney - I'll relax watching the trains and exercising my shutter finger!!

    Thanks again,

    Mike
