    That was NYC's choice, among many other roads.

    Some roads preferred Hunter Green.

    A good number of companies used the so-called "Pullman Green".

    The "Pullman Green" that was applied to the old Athern Blue Box heavyweight cars seemed to my eye to be a somewhat lighter shade than the prototype. Some darker colors don't scale down well to model level so some folks lighten them a bit. The colors on the Athern cars always looked good to me but the cars I painted with Scale Coat or Floquil Pullman green always seemed to be much darker.
