Here is a pic of my newly assembled Bachmann Sanding Facility. The kit wasn't that difficult to assemble although not to sure if I should just weather the kit or should I repiant it.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated especially any help in the colour selection

I have the same opinion as Catt, except for the weathering that should have some rust on the tanks (normally running down along the steel construction.)
May I suggest gray color on the hand rails to give more contrast against the gangways.

    Paul,
I would also paint the tank supports, the round poles, flat black with some grimmy black weathering. Along with the footers that hold it up at the very bottom, those are actually concrete, So I'd paint them some type of concrete gray and weather them alittle, even the footersfor the legs on the gangways they were also concrete.

On the ladders, I would paint them alittle add some color in a different shade of gray or even black and the rungs would get a yellow "facing" for the safety issues. Along with any end railings would get some yellow on them. The walkway or "catwalk" at the bottom of the tanks I would paint it flat black and weather it.

And looking at your picture, I would even go as far as painting the gangways support legs a gray or even black.. To break up all that yellow......

And to customize that you your preticular railroad. I'd find some way to designate a logo on the tanks on both sides so you would need 4 of the same decals emblems... Then once all this is done spray on some dullcote (flat finish).

    Colonel,
The colors look good, the basic design and product looks to me to be similiar to the many oil related structures we have where I am from, only without the black crude. My suggestion would be dull coat, lots of rust on those walkways, and some splattered mud around the base from Sand spills if the facility is older, or in a harsh climate (Utah will rust anything).
