That type of work would hold no interest for me! I presume by saying "blowtorch" the writer meant a cutting torch.
UPDATE From the latest update of one of the above links: "Hamilton said the three contractors were working to separate two of the 13 cars that derailed early Monday morning when residual vapors caught fire. The two men with the most serious injuries worked for R.J. Corman, but the third worked for Paducah & Louisville Railway. The workers were wearing respiratory protection, but suffered burns. Hamilton said at this point, they don’t have enough information to determine exactly what the workers were doing when the vapors caught fire." Doug Hamilton is the MetroSafe Executive Director. Louisville and Jefferson County, KY merged governments many years ago. Just a few minutes ago on the local news it was stated that CSX was on site. Not sure if it was an error as to what railroad is involved or if CSX is there to help. I would believe that CSX is there to help since they too are affected. They have tracks within a few miles to the east, which is now in the expanded evacuation area. Also the Ohio River is close to traffic (The derailment is next to the Ohio River).
