This is an unusual line in the Paris Metro system. These trains run on rubber tires rather than the conventional railroad wheels. I shot this photo late one evening. The weather had been rainy and more rain came a short time later.
They are great to ride, Pierce. Very smooth and quiet due to the rubber wheels, but fast around the curves, as they also have horizontally mounted rubber wheels contacting rails alongside the cars, which means they don't slow down much for the bends! I loved riding the Metro, much better than our London Underground.
I agree--very smooth. The Metro is one of the easiest systems to navigate. However, I didn't have much trouble with the Underground either.
