Oh great, thanks, as you can tell I don't know to much about this bandwidth stuff, my wife into that as I'm more hardware.

I just created a Yahoo Group... Railroad History

I have 2 links and 1 poll. I am at school right now but I will upload that list tonight. Not complete but about 90% there.

And to think you left out the North Coast Limited, and the Mainstreeter! [IMG] </font>
Well, I figured he probably had those. I was trying for more obscure stuff.

Boxcab E50
</font>
You forgot "The Alaskan" for the NP and also for the GN was "The Cascadian" from Spokane to Seattle in the day time. [IMG]

As promised I have done a little research into
named electric interurban trains.

This may involve several separate posts.

Illinois Terminal(Orig. Illinois Traction System)

in the 1st decade of the 20th century several
parlor cars(extra fare)were known as "Corn Belt Limiteds"

"Owl" was the name of the St.Louis - Peoria
sleeper train, also had a tri-weekly section to
Champaign.
"Illini" was a St. Louis - Peoria regular train
as was
"Capitol Limited" , the crack day run.

Four trains were known as ...
"Tangerine Flyers" undoubtedly due to the color of the cars.

One "Tangerine Flyer" was renamed
"Illmo Limited" another renamed to
"Peorian"

The streamliners of the late 1940's (1949) Were named
"Mound City" and "Fort Crevecoeur"

CT

Named trains of the Chicago, North Shore &
Milwaukee RR. (North Shore Line)

"Gold Coast Limited" (began 1917)

"Badger Limited" (began 1920)

"The Eastern Limited" (began 1922 made connections w/Eastern trains ie. 20th Century Limited, Broadway Limited,Capitol Limited etc)

"Prairie State Special" (began 1923)

"Gold Coast Limited"

" The Interstate Limited" (1927 ?)

"Northland Limited" (1925)

"Metropolitan Limited" (1925)

During the 1922 opera season, the NSL
operated a train named...
"Grand Opera Special"

More to follow as I find them!

Charlie, I rode an interurban from Chicago to the Great Lakes Naval Training Center back in '58. I think it was called the "Electro-Liner", or something similar.....?

There were only two on the line 800-801. They provided fast commuter limited service.
