Found a great article from 2016 by incredible Geoff Bunza on Differential Absolute Position Detector (DAPD): https://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/26133 Must be great for precise car and loco detection necessary for running auto trains with JMRI, which I would like to do. Ordered a few boards, assembly was a bit tedious even under microscope due to tiny parts used. Going to give them a try instead of traditional and rather bulky IR detectors. The detector's output is direct compatible with Arduino input, so I expect integration with DCC++ to be easy.
