My jaw dropped to the floor the other day as we were pulling into Argentine yard westbound. At 12th street over on main 4 was a KCT transfer with the freshly painted Yellow KCT Geep in the lead. Behind the yellow geep was an ex-PC GP38 STILL in PC black and the huge PC logo had resurfaced through the black patch job (Conrail's patch job from back in the '70s). I could still read the words "Penn Central" on the loco's flank. On the nose was clearly the "CR" patch job. This has got to be THE last loco running around in PC black. (?)

Anybody have any pics of this engine? Would love to see any photos. What has been it's history? Didn't catch the number but it had the WAMX reporting marks.

Saw the unit again the other day...and ironically saw a near perfectly preserved white Penn Central covered hopper a few minutes later.

You're welcome. Interesting, a locomotive that hasn't been painted in over 30 years.

There are some locomotives around with paint probably as old, just not as obvious because they aren't fallen flags. Example, a couple engines in CP large multimark (or have those been retired since I last heard?)

I have seen other shots of engines in PC paint in the past few years, but none of them running.
