I hope to hit some spots next week, I have been to Selkirk, looking for some places in an hour or so driving distance. I am on the NY/Mass line,

I have been to Palmer. Mass & east Deerfield.
    when are good times?

    How about Ayer, Mass?

    thanks
    Mike

I haven't been in that area for 50 years, but maybe some of the following locations are still accessible. There was NYC's (B&A) Castleton Cutoff bridge over the Hudson. Not only did the B&A freights go over the bridge, but the NYC Hudson Division trains went under the bridge. Also there was B&A's State Line Tunnel east of Chatham. I don't know about today's traffic density, but these were great places 50 years ago. If NYC's Selkirk yard is accessible, that might be a good photo spot.

At Shelburne Falls, MA, is a small trolley museum, which is located right next to the Guilford tracks. There is not much to see at the museum during the winter, but I saw some railfans waiting there for Guilford traffic.

been meaning to go check out Chatham, not that far from me..
Selkirk is not that bad, you can sometimes get some close ups... but Iam always afraid to stay there too long,, but really haven't had any problems there..,

Shelburne Falls will have to check thatout..

    thanks
