OK guys, I wanna see what you have!! Bring on pics of your O scale motive power fleet. My stable is a little sahort but here is what I have so far: 2 moguls, an 0-4-0 Porter, and an 0-4-2 Porter
Here's the only one I have a picture of Its a Broadway Limited Imports C-16 2-8-0 with sound. I got it for $120 last year when one of the mail order suppliers was blowing them out. Man I really need to get the camera out and snap some shots. Eric
You got a heck of a deal on that baby!! I have been looking at a RGS version of the same thing but it is just outside my budget...maybe Santa Claus?? How do you like the model? John
More Pics Here are a few more shots. The red and green engine is destined to be repainted for the DSP and PRR. None of these has yet been weathered, but that too will come John
Hey Geeky...sounds like a strange place to run an antique Lionel LOL Any chance of a photo or is it in a sealed box?? John
Naw just a cardboard box and I have no rail images anymore. It does run though. I will probably set it up on the floor of my train room and let er rip! It's best at non scale speeds.
Well I have some three rail from the wife's layout... This just showed up in time for Tina's Birthday. ACL 122 a Geep 7 idles in front of the former CB&Q station at Westfield IL. The loco was donated by CSX and restored by the ACL Historical Society. Actually it is the new MTH Railking DCS Proto 2.0. I will never buy anything eles again! Nice slow speeds like traditional scales! This one is mine! MTH Premiere GP30 painted for one of my favorite shortlines, the Chicago Central! It has DCS Proto 2.0 as well and is the locomotive that convinced me to switch back to MTH.
Those are some nice looking engines!! So the Proto 2.0 versions run more like scale speed? That is excellent John
Yes sir! I never like the trackplans posted on all those toy train books, the round and round figure eights are boring to me. So I set up Tina's layout to a somewhat more prototypical oval, with sidding and a ladder track for a yard. These new MTH 2.0 engines will crawl at 1 scale mile per hour and don't jump between speeds. Once at a set speed, they hold it no matter the track or grade! You can run other brand locomotives on the DCS system too but the control of my other engines is no where near as nice as these Proto 2.0's. Its like switching cars in N or HO:teeth:
New Arrival!! This just arrived in the mail. I purchased it from a private source leaving the hobby. Along with it came a basket case 2-6-0 and a BUNCH of accessories. It turns out that this is DCC equipt. Will it hurt it to run on DC intil I get DCC??? John
This one is for Darren! This is my K-Line GP39-2 in CSX but with it's original paint. CSX bought or saved from Guilford in the late 80's early 90's. The Flag on the cab was for Desert Storm. It has Lionel Command.
Another of my favorites.... Another K-Line, GS4 Daylight as the American Freedom Train with matching display cars. It too has Lionel Command. I'm not much of a collector, but I wonder if this set will be collectable now that K-Line is no more.
GREAT shots!! Nice one of the AFT, timely too since one of the crew recently passed away. I suspect that anything from K Line became instantly collectable when they closed their doors. I just got a K Line building kit. The box is in bad shape so I think I will go ahead and build the building . Keep those shots rolling in!!! John
