Hey guys, I finally got my Christmas pictures developed, so I thought I'd share a couple of the pictures from Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry: The Great Train Story. An all GE lineup in the Yard outside of Chicago. A container ship being loaded in Seattle. A Metratrain pauses at the station while a fright with Santa FE Dash 8-40B passes. A coal drag headed by a single SD-60M goes by in the background as an Amtrack train zooms by.
Thanks for posting those pics! I can't wait to see that place in person. I went to the museum when they were constructing it, but I couldn't see anything because they put up a wall. I remember the larger scale layout they had for so long. When I was a kid, I would just stand there and watch the trains. Then my family would want to move on to other parts of the museum, and I wanted to stand there all day! Anyway, it looks like quite a layout. That container ship is huge! I think half my layout could fit inside it. thanks for the pics- Dave
Here are a few more A dark picture of the Chicago skyline. The Sears Tower reaches almost to the bottom of the 727. An Ore boat on probably the Calumet The Seattle Space Needle. This is a picture of the NY 999 REcord breaking locomotive with the United 727 behind it. The layout is hidden behind the loco in this shot.
Yo, Ho that shot of NY999 with the Boeing727 in the background is absolutely perfect. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for posting those excellent photographs. What a fantastic job to be the curator of that exhibition.
What are the dimesions on those skyscrappers? I'd like to know to see if they'll shrink down to a manageable level for my N-Trak project. That thread is here: Think... Think... Brain Stuck Thanks for any help! Sweet pics by the way. [ 08. February 2003, 04:57: Message edited by: Sir_Prize ]
