Shaummy, A few years back I purchased a book called "Model Railroad Bridges & Trestles" from Kalmbach Books. It has numerous articles on how to build many types of bridges and trestles. There's an article on building a timber trestle, one on common standard trestles, and one on steel trestles. There's more to choose from. I don't know if it's still available though. Hope this helps. Hi, all, years ago I built a curved 24" radius trestle bridge from a kit by California model company. It went very well. I later built a wharf and a two stall metal enginehouse from kits by the same company. I'm happy with recommending them. Out here in the middle of Nevada I saw one of those "necessity is the mother of invention" things. A home-made railcar push tractor type ugly thing that a farmer or three had built to help load cars at a roadside grain operation. It worked good but boy it was UGLY. Shaummy, look on page 97 of the December 1999 issue of the Railroad Model Craftsman. You will find an article with drawings titled: "American Railroad Bridges" by William D. Middleton. It is 6 pages long with lots of detail. Also, he has published "Landmarks of the Iron Road: Two Centuries of North American Railroad Engineering", published by Indiana University Press. Most book stores might have it in stock since it came out in January of 2000, or they could order it for you. If you can't find anything, email me and I can make a xerographic reproduction of the 6 pages I have, and snail mail them to you, if you want to send me your mailing address.
