plastic buildings

Hi guys:
I am trying to set my Era and have a question about steel buildings what year did we start seeing these ( the steel buildings that Rix makes) thanks

 

i think it was the mid 70s when the new type metal buildings started showing up. Just taking this from memory( and we all know how accurate that is )......Mike

 

Maybe give or take 10 or 20 years?

 

I am doing a late 60s theme, and using some Rix/Pikestuff buildings. I think you can safely use them as far back as say 1965. But before that, you're better off with some Evergreen corrugated styrene overlaying the side panels.

There is a former sawmill just down the street from me, it is about 60% modern prefab, ala Rix, and 40% corrugated steel.
